Video Project Planning Sheet – Overview

You must fill this sheet in if you want to claim money for your project from Gamos/Big World.  The questions are on the left, and the middle columns are to help you understand what we need.  YOU must fill in the column on the right – your answers can be short or long – the box will expand.

If yes what makes it special, what’s the added value of your version		This is useable by health workers, and will be images of local people, and in SA language	This will be more acceptable to africans – at a good pace of learning and with african people in the video.	This is my poetry, and it will be a  first – poetry from Soweto
How does it help people	If it is pure entertainment just say so, but we are more interested in sponsoring educational videos	it will show people what to do when their children have diarrhea	it will explain how to open a word document and to start writing	they may be inspired
What do they get from it	Similar question to the above, but try to make your answer a little different	at the end of the video people will know how to respond to children’s diarrhea	at the end of the video people will be able to open a word processor	people will only get enjoyment from my poetry
Where is the script	You may have a ready made script or not.	We will use the facts for Life booklet	We will use a teaching session from Joe	We will use my poems

How practical is the filming	Your idea may be too difficult to film.  Check its practical	Easy – I only have to visit families with small children	I will need to be able to screen capture from a computer	A bit difficult, I want to film in the rural area so I need to borrow the camera
Who is the audience	Who are the people who will watch the video	Anyone in SA, but mainly people attending clinics or being visited by health workers	Anyone attending Digital Village, we may sell to other learners interested	Anyone, worldwide who is interested in South Africa.
Why do they watch it		It will be shown to them by health professionals in clinics and health visitors, and maybe schools	They are interested in learning computers and want to watch it	They heard it was good and wanted to buy it and see.
Who will buy it	Sometimes the person paying for the CD is not the audience – for instance the ministry of education may pay for something, but its the children who watch it.	Ministry of health, clinics, organisations working in health promotion.	Digital Village and other computer training centres	The same people who will watch it – perhaps for Christmas present to friends
Why do they want it	The person paying for the CD – why do they want it	It will help their health promotion	It will help their training	It will be a nice thing
How many copies will you sell	Take a guess at how many copies might be made	About 1000 for health clinics and services around SA.	About 100 to trainers and clients	Who knows – if its popular maybe thousands
